Redditch Hockey Club encourages open, positive communication across our teams and platforms.
This policy covers how we use email, WhatsApp, social media, and other channels to share information and represent the club.
It applies to all members, parents/guardians, and volunteers
Principles
- Communicate respectfully and positively at all times
- Use official club channels for team and match information
- Protect members’ privacy, especially children and young people
- Avoid posting content that could damage the club’s reputation
- Safeguarding always comes first
Social & communications standards
Do:
- Use inclusive and respectful language
- Share accurate, timely information
- Celebrate achievements and promote club events
- Gain consent before sharing photos/videos
Don’t:
- Post discriminatory or offensive comments
- Share personal data without consent
- Create unofficial groups for juniors
- Engage in online arguments or bring the club into disrepute
Specific channels
Admins must be over 18; no one-to-one adult–junior messaging; keep content relevant to hockey.
Use official club accounts; avoid sharing member details widely.
Posts must align with club values; no abusive or political content.
Official announcements via authorised editors only.
Club Chair/Communications Officer are points of contact.
