3rds come 2nd in 13-goal thriller
A young Redditch team came up against a much more experienced Droitwich side in a game that was truly won in the 3rd dimension.
With six goals scored in a first half which included the withdrawal of experienced midfielder Tim Gibbs through injury – significantly lowering the average age of the team on the field – the young Redditch midfield enjoyed their best spells of possession in the second half. Unfortunately this was not reflected in the goals for column, although Will Wright was cruelly bundled over when advancing on the D, with AS striking the resulting short corner just wide in Rediitch’s best spell of the match.
Player of the match went to GB for an inspiring all-action performance in midfield, although credit should also go to all the lads who didn’t stop running, despite the eventual scoreline.
